    Fast Travel in Soulframe

Can You Fast Travel in Soulframe? Yes, but not the way you might expect. Travel in Soulframe is one of the most discussed topics in the community, and for good reason. The world of Midrath is vast, beautiful, and time-consuming to cross on foot. If you’ve been wondering whether you can skip the long walks between objectives, this guide breaks down exactly how travel in Soulframe works, what unlocks it, and how to use it wisely.

The Short Answer: Fast Travel Exists, But It’s Restricted

Soulframe does have a fast travel system but it’s nothing like the point-and-click teleportation you’d find in Skyrim or Warframe. Digital Extremes deliberately designed travel in Soulframe to preserve the sense of exploration and danger that defines the game’s world. Fast travel is available, but it’s gated behind a quest, a limited daily currency, and a network of locations you must discover yourself.

The feature was introduced in the Preludes 12 update (November 2024) after months of community feedback. Before that patch, players had no choice but to walk or ride across every stretch of Midrath on foot.

How Fast Travel Works in Soulframe: The World Tree System

The backbone of fast travel in Soulframe is the World Tree network. World Trees are enormous, ancient trees scattered across the map of Midrath. When you first encounter one, it will be shrouded in corruption and surrounded by fog. Interacting with a World Tree cleanses it, removes the fog from the surrounding region, and adds that tree to your personal fast travel network.

To fast travel using a World Tree:

    1. Open your World Map.
    2. Locate a World Tree icon you have already discovered and cleansed.
    3. Select it and confirm that you want to spend a Wevetseed to teleport there.
    4. You will instantly be transported to that location.

The key limitation here is that you can only travel to World Trees you have personally found and cleansed. You cannot jump to a region you haven’t reached on foot at least once. This prevents newer players from skipping large sections of the game, and it means travel in Soulframe always starts with genuine exploration.

What Are Wevetseeds? The Currency of Travel in Soulframe

Each fast travel costs one Wevetseed — a special consumable that acts as the currency for Soulframe’s teleportation system. Without a Wevetseed in your inventory, you cannot use a World Tree to fast travel, no matter how many you have discovered.

Here is what you need to know about Wevetseeds:

    • One Wevetseed grows per day from a living plant in your Nightfold (your personal hideout).
    • You must manually collect it — it will not add itself to your inventory automatically.
    • They are consumed on use, so each fast travel permanently spends one.
    • You can stockpile them over multiple days, giving you bursts of faster movement when needed.
    • There is currently no way to farm extra Wevetseeds beyond the daily growth — so use them carefully.

This daily cap is the defining characteristic of travel in Soulframe. It means fast travel is a resource to be managed, not a free shortcut. Players who burn through their seeds on short trips early in a session will find themselves walking long distances later.

How to Unlock Fast Travel in Soulframe

Fast travel is not available from the start of the game. You need to complete a specific quest chain to earn access to the Wevetseed plant.

Step 1: Recruit Ancestor Verminia (the Rat Witch)

Before anything else, you need to recruit Verminia to your Nightfold. She can be found in the central part of the map, inside a cave beneath a hollowed tree. Completing her associated quest brings her to your base and is a prerequisite for the next step.

Step 2: Complete “The Waste Bear” Quest

Once Verminia is in your Nightfold, speak to her and she will automatically offer you The Waste Bear quest. This quest involves tracking down a corrupted bear named Bromius, helping him overcome his affliction, and defeating two bosses along the way. It is a mid-game quest, so you will need to have progressed reasonably far through the main story and explored a good portion of the map before this becomes available.

Step 3: Receive the Living Plant from Bromius

After completing The Waste Bear quest, Bromius rewards you with a Living Plant for your Nightfold. This is the sapling that grows one Wevetseed per day. Walk up to Verminia’s workstation, turn toward the sapling, and collect your seed each day during the daily reset.

Once this plant is in your Nightfold, fast travel in Soulframe is officially unlocked.

Tips for Managing Travel in Soulframe Efficiently

Can You Fast Travel in Soulframe

Because Wevetseeds are limited, smart management of your fast travel makes a real difference in how smoothly your sessions run. Here are some practical tips:

Discover World Trees first. The more trees you have cleansed, the more destinations you have to choose from. Make expanding your World Tree network a priority during early exploration so that your fast travel options grow alongside your seed stockpile.

Save seeds for long crossings. Midrath is large enough that running from one end to the other can take over ten minutes in a straight line. Reserve your Wevetseeds for those lengthy traversals rather than short hops you could manage on foot in a couple of minutes.

Log in daily to collect your seed. The Wevetseed will not collect itself. Make it a habit to visit your Nightfold and pick up the day’s growth. Missing a day means missing a seed you could have stockpiled for later.

Plan your sessions around your seed count. If you know you have a big farming or questing session ahead that will require several jumps across the map, save up three or four seeds beforehand so you are not stranded on foot when you need to move fast.

Mounts are coming. The developers have confirmed that mounts will eventually be introduced into Soulframe. Once they arrive, ground travel in Soulframe will become significantly faster, which may reduce the pressure on Wevetseeds for shorter distances.

Why Doesn’t Soulframe Have Unrestricted Fast Travel?

This is a question that comes up constantly in the community. Digital Extremes has stated clearly that they have no intention of adding the kind of unrestricted fast travel seen in games like Skyrim — where you can teleport anywhere on the map with a single click, at any time.

The reason comes down to design philosophy. Soulframe is built around exploration, atmosphere, and the feeling that Midrath is a real, connected world rather than a collection of isolated mission nodes. Travel in Soulframe is intentional. When you have to cross the land yourself — or spend a precious Wevetseed to skip the journey each destination carries more weight.

This contrasts sharply with Warframe, Digital Extremes’ other major title, where players chain missions through a star map with no concern for distance. Veterans arriving in Soulframe expecting the same system often find the travel mechanics frustrating at first, but many come to appreciate the slower pace once they adjust to the game’s rhythm.

What About Future Changes to Travel in Soulframe?

Soulframe is still in its Preludes (pre-Alpha) stage, which means every system — including travel — is subject to change. The community has already influenced the game once by pushing for some form of fast travel, which led to the Preludes 12 update. Discussions on the official forums continue to explore ideas like Leyline pathways as a lore-friendly expansion of the travel network.

As the game expands and more of Midrath is opened up, it is likely that the fast travel system will evolve as well. Whether that means more World Trees, additional ways to earn Wevetseeds, or entirely new movement options remains to be seen. For now, the current system strikes a deliberate balance between convenience and immersion.

    Final Thoughts

Travel in Soulframe is not the instant teleportation system that many players initially hope for — but once you understand how it works, it becomes one of the more satisfying elements of the game. The World Tree network rewards thorough exploration, and the daily Wevetseed mechanic turns fast travel into a meaningful resource decision rather than a trivial menu click.

To summarise: yes, you can fast travel in Soulframe, but only after completing The Waste Bear quest, only to World Trees you have already discovered, and only when you have Wevetseeds to spend. Use them wisely, collect your daily seed without fail, and prioritise expanding your World Tree network early and travel in Soulframe will feel far less daunting than it first appears.
